Current best-practice guidelines in helicopter rescue and aerial work recommend using a metal connection between the Human External Cargo (HEC) and the hook (hoist or long line), preferably made of steel.
THORIG is the newest addition to Kong’s family of multi-anchor plates, retaining key features such as thickness, the absence of sharp edges, and “textile-friendly” rounded hole profiles.
Made from special stainless steel (AISI 630), the device is also suitable for use in corrosive environments.
The larger circular hole is designed to accommodate both textile and metal components, allowing operators to configure the device according to their specific operational needs.
Its openable design makes it possible to replace worn elements and reconfigure the setup whenever required.
The smaller circular hole allows the attachment of another openable ring such as LOTOR, as well as standard connectors, quick links, or additional accessories such as discharge cables, hoist weights, slings, tools, and more.
The trapezoidal hole has been engineered to fit all types of carabiners and hoist hooks on the market, and the device’s geometry prevents accidental rollout.
THORIG enables hoist transfer on aircraft equipped with two in-line hoists (Hoist Change Over).
